Pelicans Set Themselves up for 2016 Offseason

With the re-signing of Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca and the extension given to Anthony Davis, the Pelicans have set their front-court for the future. While New Orleans should improve this year as Davis continues to take steps toward being the most dominant player in the NBA, the Pelicans are really setting themselves for the summer of 2016.

With Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson’s contracts up after this season, the Pelicans will have the cap room to go after a marquee free agent. Having Davis locked up will definitely be a good draw for a top tier free agent. Just like guys want to play with LeBron James, players may be flocking to play with the Pelicans for years to come.
