Hawks acquire SG Tim Hardaway Jr. from New York
Knicks acquire PG Jerian Grant
I like this move by the Hawks. They didn’t want a rookie with the 19th pick who might take a couple years to turn in to a contributing players. They wanted someone who could come in this year and contribute and that’s what they got in Tim Hardaway Jr. The two year Knick has shot 35% from deep in his career and averaged double digit points in both seasons. The former Michigan star should be able to contribute for a Hawks team that loves to shoot the 3 and could use a player like Hardaway Jr. off the bench to contribute.
While the Knicks traded a proven player for somewhat of an unknown in Jerian Grant, I like this trade for New York. Grant spent 5 years in college and is one of the players in the draft who can definitely come in and play minutes right away for a team that is looking for a point guard. After adding Aaron Afflalo in free agency, the void left by Hardaway Jr. can be easily filled.
